Site membership to help you buy Realistic Imitation Firearms.
There's a lot of confusion about what you need to buy a Realistic Imitation Firearm (RIF). You do not need any form of licence, membership, or other scheme to own a RIF.
To buy one, the seller must satisfy themselves that they're allowed to sell to you under the defences laid out by the Home Office. Our defence is airsoft skirmishing at a site that holds public liability insurance, and a seller must take reasonable steps to ensure you'll use the RIF for that purpose.
Our scheme
We follow the three-games-in-no-less-than-56-days guideline. To become a registered UCAP Airsoft player, take part in three games in no less than two months (56 days) at any of our sites, so games one and three are at least 56 days apart.
You must be over 18 and able to provide two forms of ID: one photographic, such as a passport or driving licence, and one proof of address, such as a bank statement or utility bill. Once you've been issued your membership card, that card and your player membership number is all most retailers require.
Complete the membership form in block capitals and bring it to each qualifying game, where a member of staff will sign against the date to confirm you attended. Signatures cannot be backdated.
Fees
- Membership is £15 and expires 365 days from its start date.
- Payable when you submit your completed form at a UCAP site, with recognised ID.
- Replacement cards are £5.
- To renew, repeat the process using the dates on your card log.
There is no such thing as a UKARA licence. We will not register your information with UKARA: there's no legal need to.
Membership does not allow you to walk around with an airsoft gun on show. Always keep your kit in a bag or case, out of sight, in a secure location.
